How Alternative Chemicals OÜ handles the personal data you share with us through this website.
Who we are
This website is operated by Alternative Chemicals OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described below. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@alternative-chemicals.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you send us. When you use the request-for-quotation form or write to us, we receive the details you enter: product and grade, quantity, packaging, delivery location, Incoterm, company name, work email and your notes. Our web server also records technical data for every request (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type) in its access logs.
Why we use it
We use your enquiry to prepare and send an offer and to follow up on it, which is a step taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and to keep a record of our business correspondence (our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Server logs are used to keep the website secure and running (legitimate interest). We do not use your data for newsletters or advertising and we do not sell it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a contract are deleted within 24 months of our last contact. If an enquiry leads to a contract, the correspondence is kept for as long as the law requires us to keep business and accounting records. Server logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider.
Who receives it
Your enquiry is handled by our trading team. It is stored and transmitted by our web hosting and email provider, which processes it on our behalf. If you ask for an offer, we may share the necessary product and delivery details (without your personal contact data where possible) with producers and carriers in order to quote. We do not transfer your data to anyone else unless the law requires it.

Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise these rights, write to info@alternative-chemicals.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, www.aki.ee) or with the supervisory authority where you live or work.
